The Indians knew they were going to struggle offensively in their three-game series in San Francisco, which concluded Sunday with a 3-1 loss. The Indians have struggled offensively for much of this season even when they were at full strength.
They were not at full strength in the San Francisco series, first by rule, then by chance. The Indians knew going into the series they would probably have trouble offensively because their best hitter, Travis Hafner, was not going to start any of the three games.
