In the past week, the A's have added two long-time minor-leaguers to the 40-man roster and brought them up to the big leagues.

Last week, it was catcher Anthony Recker, who made his big-league debut at Yankee Stadium and then recorded his first hit at Fenway Park. And on Tuesday, it was right-hander Neil Wagner who pitched a scoreless inning in his debut during Oakland's 6-2 loss at Cleveland.

This was Recker's seventh season in the minors, and Wagner's sixth. When Wagner opened the season at Class AA Midland, after splitting the 2010 season with Cleveland's and Oakland's Class AA teams, and he was close to giving up.
